What’s in My Bag (Chemo Edition)

There were a million lists on the internet saying what to take in your bag to infusion days, so I don’t pretend to know anything more than the millions of other people posting about it, but I wanted to put this out there for anyone who wanted an honest opinion of what I took and found useful for those long chemo days.

Type of Bag: Scout Original Deano bag in size Large

Essentials:

  • Soft blanket

  • Heated blanket (I took two blankets to keep warm while cold capping)

  • Water and Liquid IV

  • Charger

  • Neck pillow

  • Kindle

  • Phone

  • Snacks

  • Dry mouth candy/Ginger candy

Essentials if you are cold capping:

  • Clean towel

  • Conditioner (I used Colleen Rothschild leave in conditioner)

  • Spray bottle to wet hair

  • Trash bag (to keep your clothes dry when your hair is wet)

  • Hair clip (plus another to clip on the towel and trash bag around your neck)

  • Surgical cap

  • Comb

  • Pantyliners (yes, really. they’re for your forehead).

  • Hat is optional, but you may want it after you leave having had a freezing cold cap on your wet and conditioner-filled hair all day
